I hope you still enjoy the process of learning! As my planning for next three month on this January I have to read Alibaba: The Kingdom build by Jack Ma from the author Duncan Clark. Well, what is the catch? Alibaba it's not related to investment! Why I have to read this? Well, for simple answer I have to learn business as much as I can and the only thing I can do is learning from the best and Alibaba is one of those. I will write my impression of this book below:
First of all, even though this book is about Alibaba and Jack Ma, but it's not 100% about them. I will call it 50% about Jack Ma, 15% about Alibaba, and 35% about other people who related to his success like Meg Whiteman (Founder of Yahoo), Masayoshi Son (President of Softbank), and the country of China. Well, I have read Warren Buffett biography but it's all about Warren Buffett but when you read this book you will tell the different.
I really like this book after all, easy to understand but at the beginning it's difficult to read. (maybe because it's about Business Center in China that I'm unfamiliar with). But, in the middle it's getting fun.
I will not tell you the point like I did in the other books summary. Because it will spoil the book. But in this book I learn that it's important to invest in business. I thinking about this because Goldman Sachs is selling to early their ownership in Alibaba that some people approximately they missed earning potential more than $400 million.
Secondly, I really learn about how important to have excellent management. In this book you will read about the struggle of Yahoo! who invest in China and why they lose from Alibaba.
And for last, I learn that we can't give up to reach our dreams. there is time that Alibaba really in their struggle and Jack Ma already prepare to return to his last profession as teacher but gladly He is not giving up and did his best to recover.
